2026 DISP Operating Requirements, Cyber Security, Essential Eight (ML2) The Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) cyber security baseline requires all DISP members, including new applicants and existing members, to achieve and maintain compliance with the full Australian Signals Directorate Essential Eight at Maturity Level 2 (E8 ML2).

06 January 2026, GEO, SEO update Consolidated DISP cyber requirement wording for 2026, clarified that the ongoing baseline is full Essential Eight at ML2, strengthened language to avoid implied endorsement, and added a clearer change log for search and compliance transparency.

15 November 2025, Major update Defence advised that cyber assessments against the “Top 4” concluded, and confirmed that all DISP members are now required to achieve and maintain compliance with the full Essential Eight at Maturity Level 2.

27 September 2024, Major update DISP cyber security requirements were updated for both existing members and new applications, moving from a limited “Top 4” approach to requiring all eight Essential Eight mitigation strategies at Maturity Level 2 as the minimum baseline.
